DECEMBER 2005 REPORT
January 19, 2006

Dear Brethren,

We hope that this report finds all of you doing well. All three children have been sick off-and-on for the last couple of weeks, and are all currently on antibiotics for strep infections and/or ear infections. We have also been having very cold wintry weather. We have seen the temperature just barely get over freezing only a handful of times since Christmas, and have more snow now than I remember ever seeing in the Czech Republic outside of the higher elevations. It makes us long for the start of Spring and warmer weather.

SUPPORT / TRAVEL FUNDS

Effective January 1, the Hillview congregation in Nashville, Tennessee reduced its monthly support from $600 to $400, resulting in a loss of $200 per month. These funds have now been replaced, both through a raise in...[more]

JUNE/JULY 2005 REPORT
July 16, 2005

Dear Brethren,

We hope that this report finds all of you doing well. We are doing fine here in the Czech Republic. School has finished, and many families are now enjoying their vacations. We will be leaving on Monday for a few days in a cabin in the foothills of some mountains about 60 miles from our home. The Lustyks from the church in Litomysl will be joining us. We look forward to the time our two families will be able to spend together (they have 3 children who are roughly the same ages as our 3 children).

This is a short report on the work here during June and the first half of July. I would like to plan to send out the next report at the beginning of September and covering the second half of July as well as August.

MARCH 2006 REPORT
April 11, 2006

Dear Brethren,

We hope that this report finds all of you doing well. Please note our new mailing address in the header above.

Spring has finally begun to start here in this part of Europe, although it is just beginning. Just the beginnings of green leaves and new grass are beginning to show up. The snow is all gone now, except for in the mountains. The flooding in recent weeks in some parts of the Czech Republic has not caused any problems in the Litomysl area.

I am still continuing to have problems with my cervical spine, causing headaches and dizziness, but the overall situation has improved quite a bit from what it was like in January into February. Along with doctors, we continue to try to find the source of the problem, and hopefully will find the right treatment soon....[more]

16 July a.m. – Kilgore, TX
16 July p.m. – Lindale, TX

23 July – available in Dallas area

The only date still available is July 23, and since we fly back to the Czech Republic on July 25, we would need to limit that to visiting a congregation in the Dallas area.

REPORT FOR JANUARY 2005
February 7, 2005

Dear Brethren,

We hope that this report finds all of you doing well. We are doing fine here in the Czech Republic. This is the first report since November 15, 2004, so in addition to the events in January, I’ll also try to fill you in on the period prior to January.

SUPPORT

Our support situation has been taken care of. The Santa Clara church informed us that they would stay involved in our support, although in an amount of $100 less per month. We are very thankful to the brethren there for their decision. So, we are not in need of any additional support at this time.

VISIT TO USA

Our trip to the United States from mid-December to early-January was very pleasant. It was good to be with our family in Texas, and to visit with many brethren during that time. I was g...[more]

REPORT FOR FEBRUARY 2005
March 15, 2005

Dear Brethren,

We hope that this report finds all of you doing well. We are doing fine here in the Czech Republic. The heavy snow that has been a real problem during February and early March is finally beginning to melt off and warmer temperatures are a much-welcomed change after what has been a very cold and wintry two months.

SUPPORT

One change from last month’s report. We received a raise of $200 per month from the Lindale, Texas church. After discussing this with them, we decided that we would accept it only with the understanding that it would be used in special ways in the work. So, we are not considering it personal support, but support which will be devoted solely to doing special things for the work. One of the first things we did with these funds was to purchas...[more]

TRIP TO THE UNITED STATES

Our family has made plans to travel to the United States from June 28 to July 25, 2006. We were able to purchase airline tickets for the fairly reasonable price of $4,100 roundtrip total. To date, we have received $1,400 in help towards paying for these t...[more]

REPORT FOR JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2006
February 24, 2006
Dear Brethren,

We hope that this report finds all of you doing well. Please note our new telephone number in the header above.

Although we have had a few days with warmer weather, we are still very much in the grip of winter. The extreme cold that we had in January and early February has gone away, although it did keep a couple of families from being able to be at worship a couple of times (car troubles due to the cold). I have been experiencing some problems with my neck and spine which was causing dizziness and headaches, but with rehab, it has gotten much better, almost back to normal. I suspect it was mostly brought on by the cold weather and lack of outside activity.

This report will cover January and February. I apologize for its lateness, this was due to several factors,...[more]
